GUINNESS - Pit Bull

Guinness is a 3-year-old Pit Bull. He was found as a 4 month old puppy as a stray in the woods while on a mountain bike ride. He had no pads on his feet, only red, raw stumps from running. He was brought home, given lots of love, and is now a plump boy with lots of friends and more toys and treats than you can imagine. When I first got him, I was carrying him around (because of his feet) and showing him to people. I was trying to think of a name for him. Some British friends of mine (who have 2 dogs named after beer) suggested Guinness because he is a black brindle dog (hence, black and tan). They also said when he grows up and gets healthy, he'll be very stout. So Guinness it was. And they were definitely right about the stout part! He's 81 pounds now! Whenever someone asks his name they say, "How perfect!! He's the color of the beer and very stout!"

GUINNESS - Shetland Sheepdog

Our Guinness had such a fussy mom who wouldn't settle to let the pups eat.  The breeder was offered the advice to give her a little beer to make her relax.  They thought it was kind of funny and poured a tiny amount on a saucer which she lapped up and promptly laid down to let the pups nurse.  So I always tell people he was named Guinness because he was weaned on beer.  Guinness was born in Arizona, but we have moved to the south-east since then.  He's a wonderful agility-dog, does a little obedience and has "dabbled in flyball and herding".  He loves to play ball, do tricks and to tell the squirrels where they belong (outside the yard).  We call him our Wonder-sheltie and some have claimed his name could be spelled "Genius"!

PAULI GIRL - Golden Retriever

Pauli Girl is a 6-year-old Golden Retriever who loves agility, obedience, hunting birds, tracking and about any other game that comes about!!   Tho…. Agility is our favorite Thing!!   She is also a part of the Pets At Duke team where she has been participating in Pet Therapy for the past five years. 

Currently, ”Pauli Girl” U-CDX One Ash St. Pauli Girl CDX, MX, MXJ, ADHOF, CGC, TDI is working towards her UD and MACH!!

GUINNEZ - Chow Mix

Guinnez is mostly a reddish golden color with an underlying coat of black, especially in his tail. He reminded us of our favorite Black & Tan. Guinnez was adopted about a year ago, in 2002, when he was less than a year old himself, from the animal shelter in Kalamazoo, Michigan, days away from euthanasia. Like most animals adopted through this route, he has an "attitude of gratitude" that makes him an adorable and fun, if at times playfully mischievous, pet. (When he makes a mess or chews up yet another slipper, however, we call him Guinnie Pig.) Since I, his mom, live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but his dad lives on the other side of the state in Northville, Michigan, Guinnez has become a well traveled dog who never gets more excited than when it is time for another ride.  He has brought such joy to us, that he even inspired a poem... please see:

GUINNESS - Bull Terrier

Guinness, who's 'stage name' is CH Baker St Bohemian Rhapsody, ROM (ROM=Recognition of Merit - an award given by the Bull Terrier Club of America for truly excellent bull terriers) is a four year old female bull terrier. 

Guinness is a top-winning show dog and her favorite pastime (besides eating!) is being a couch potato!  She just had a litter of puppies a few days after Christmas and is busy raising her family.  Guinness and her relatives can be seen on the Baker Street Bull Terriers website at http://www.thebullterrier.com/bakerst.

BITTER - Jack Russell Terrier

"Bitter" aka Rag Valley Highly Hopped ESB, is 5 years old and was one of the first JRTs to earn the AKC Master Earthdog (ME) title.  Bitter has also earned Flyball's Onyx award and is currently ranked

as the 55th highest point earning JRT to have ever competed in North America. Bitter is shown here doing what he loves the most - playing Flyball.

PORTER - Australian Cattle Dog

"Porter" aka Highly Hopped Smoked Porter is an Australian Cattle Dog puppy. Hopefully she will be a future Agility, Flyball and Herding champion.

MICHELOB - Golden Retriever

Michelob is a one year old Golden Retriever.  He is full of energy and very spoiled!  He is training for the canine good citizen test.

Mom's Favorite Beer:  Michelob!

GUINNESS - Rottweiler/Doberman mix

Guinness is from Barbados and is 3/4 Rottweiler and 1/4 Doberman. She is about 3 years old and is a very friendly and hyperactive dog! And she certainly likes a drink of the black stuff!!!!

Dad's Favorite Beer:  Guinness, of course! 

GUINNESS - Border Collie

Guinness is a Border Collie from Texas.  He is a Canine Good Citizen, an agility dog, and recently had his first herding lesson!

FOSTERS - Golden Border Aussie

Fosters is an All-American who was given away by his previous owner.  He is training for agility and the Canine Good Citizen test.

Mom's Favorite Beer:  Well, she doesn't actually drink, but Ireland and Australia are two of her favorite places!  She also has dogs named Bailey and Irish!
